One hopes that all truck drivers who operate here in Nevada take care to act properly when at intersections. This includes making sure to obey all traffic signs/signals at intersections. When truck drivers fail to do this, it can result in devastating accidents occurring.
Recently, in another state, a fatal intersection accident occurred involving a large truck.
The accident happened on Monday. That night, a 58-year-old man was driving a big rig truck in Kinston, North Carolina. According to authorities, the 58-year-old man then failed to obey a red light at an intersection and a collision occurred between the big rig truck and a car that was being driven by a 21-year-old man.
The 21-year-old man was fatally injured in this crash. The accident also resulted in the 58-year-old man getting hurt. He received care at a hospital in the area after the crash.
According to the WITN article which reported this story, a misdemeanor charge of death by motor vehicle has been brought against the 58-year-old man in relation to the accident.
As this crash shows, truck accidents can sometimes have deadly results. This is one of the many reasons why it is very important for truck drivers to not act negligently or recklessly when out on the roads.
When a person has been killed in a motor vehicle accident that was caused by another motorist's negligence/recklessness, there are options available to the deceased individual's family to seek relief. One option families will sometimes pursue is the bringing of a wrongful death claim.
